Going Solar Mistake #3 – Not Planning for Expansion

When you go solar, make sure you have a conversation about future expansion. Often times, life circumstances such as an increase in family size will require additional energy usage. What could be done during your primary installation such that later expansion would require less effort?

Upsizing could be rather expensive and difficult if you do not plan ahead. A carefully considered system would allow for growth one solar panel at a time.

If you lease a solar system expansion of that system is impossible. However, a 2nd system could be installed to supplement the primary.

If you’re taking the time to have conduit (pipe for electrical wires) run in your home or a trench dug on your property, NOW is the time to upsize that conduit or put extra pipe in the trench for future projects.
